Is this an official IELTS score?
No. Every band we show is an estimate for practice purposes. BandMock is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to IELTS, British Council, IDP or Cambridge Assessment English. Only your official test result counts.
How accurate are the band estimates?
That's what the free beta exists to prove. We measure how often our estimate lands within ±0.5 of a tester's real exam band. Our self-imposed rule: we don't charge anyone until that happens in at least 70% of recorded cases. The underlying approach follows published research showing LLMs can grade IELTS-level English at F1 93%⁴ — but speaking is our own benchmark, run in public.
Will it work with my accent?
We specifically recruit beta testers from India, Vietnam, the Philippines and the Middle East — because scoring engines are too often tuned on native accents. Indian, Vietnamese and Filipino English voices are core test cases, not edge cases.
What happens to my recordings?
Recordings are used to generate your report and improve scoring accuracy, stored a maximum of 30 days, and deleted on request anytime (GDPR). We never sell your data.
Why free? What's the catch?
The catch is your feedback. Beta testers tell us what the report gets right and wrong, and share their real exam band after test day. That calibration dataset is how the product earns the right to charge $9/month. If the accuracy gate never passes, the product never charges — simple as that.
